Want to Shed Those Last Few Pounds? Consider the Many Benefits of CoolSculpting®

You’ve been going to the gym and eating right, but you still haven’t achieved your desired results. If you’re fighting the traditional belly bulge or struggling with love handles, then you’re like most people who struggle with stubborn body fat. Achieving your ideal body shape is possible despite factors like genetics. CoolSculpting® can help you successfully recontour several areas in as little as one session.

At Lowcountry Plastic Surgery Center, we have the largest CoolSculpting facility in South Carolina and Georgia. Dr. Jack Hensel Jr. is trained in CoolSculpting and can help you realize the body of your dreams with innovative, noninvasive technology. If you’ve been struggling with weight loss, consider how body contouring with CoolSculpting can supplement your weight loss journey.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting works by freezing and breaking down fat cells without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue. During a CoolSculpting treatment, Dr. Hensel will begin by vacuuming the skin above the targeted area. The skin above the fatty tissue is pulled into an applicator that works by cooling the fat cells.

This noninvasive treatment does not involve anesthetic or require incisions to be made. Patients report feeling numb in the treatment area because of the cooling sensation. This cosmetic treatment is ideal because it carries less risk than liposuction, requires no downtime, and is completed in under an hour.

Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

Body contouring with Coolsculpting isn’t recommended for everyone and cannot address underlying issues of weight gain. For instance, someone with diabetes or who leads an unhealthy lifestyle, would not benefit from this procedure. CoolSculpting is not a method of weight loss, but it can target stubborn pockets of fat that cannot be addressed by clean eating or regular exercise. If you maintain a healthy weight through diet and exercise, but have a few troublesome areas you hope to address, CoolSculpting can help. Consulting with Dr. Hensel before the process will help determine if it is appropriate for you.

How long do the results last?

Results obtained from a CoolSculpting treatment are meant to be permanent, but it may require several treatments to achieve your desired body type. Dr. Hensel will evaluate you and determine if CoolSculpting therapies are right for you. Two or more sessions may be necessary to obtain the best results. Destroying fat cells that you hope to target will not prevent new fat from forming if you do not work to preserve the results of your treatment.

Because it takes your body some time to dispose of fat cells, you will see a noticeable decrease in four to six months. Some patients report an average fat reduction upwards of 20%. The most common side effects that have been associated with CoolSculpting treatment are swelling, bruising, sensitivity, or redness around the treated area.
