Bothered by Your Brows? We Can Help

When you look in the mirror, do your eyebrows seem to be sinking toward the sides of your eyes? Board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Matthew Baker with H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery can perform a brow lift that raises your brows and smooths away signs of aging on your forehead and around your eyes.

Sagging brows are common as you age

Aging has its benefits, but it also has drawbacks. Even though you still feel the same on the inside, your body changes. Your skin has less elasticity, so where it used to be taut it now may sag.

When the skin around your forehead, eyes, and eyebrows sags, your brows may sink down nearer to your eyes. The extra skin from sagging eyebrows can cover part of your eyes so that they lose definition and look hooded.

Sunken eyebrows that hood your eyes change your facial appearance. You may look perpetually sleepy or tired.

Sagging brows also accentuate other facial flaws. You may have frown lines — vertical lines between your brows that can start to look like tire tracks. You may also see forehead lines that form horizontal creases, otherwise known as railroad tracks. All of these signs of aging can make you look older than you are.

What a brow lift can do

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can solve all of these problems. It can accomplish the following to give you a more youthful appearance:

While we’re doing the brow lift …

Do you have puffy skin on your eyelids that makes your eyes appear smaller? The muscles in your eyelids weaken as you age, causing fatty deposits to accumulate on your upper and/or lower eyelids.

Sagging skin around your eyes can limit your peripheral vision — what you see out of the side of your eyes. If that’s the case, you need a blepharoplasty, which can be done at the same time as your brow lift. Medical insurance normally pays for the blepharoplasty, which restores your peripheral vision.

During your consultation on your brows, Dr. Baker can show you the benefits of getting a face-lift and/or skin resurfacing to correct other facial flaws.

During and after a brow lift

Depending on the type of surgery and your preferences, your brow lift is performed using local or general anesthesia. You won’t feel pain during the procedure.

We give you complete written pre- and post-op instructions. You’ll take pain medication as per our instructions and wear a bandage for a few days. We remove your stitches after about a week.

We want you to keep your head elevated as much as possible. You can use cold compresses to alleviate swelling. You’ll have bruises, which will dissipate normally. You’ll need to avoid vigorous workouts for a few weeks. We let you know when you can resume them.

Call or message H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery for a private consultation. We’ll show you how we can whisk away troublesome signs of aging.
